Hi All
Please be advised that an EGM has been called for 2000 hours on Thursday, 24th November 2011 to be held at The Cromwell Club, Grimsby.
The purpose of the meeting is two amendments to the Club Rules, namely Rule 4(e) and 5(a).

Rule 4 (e).
It has been proposed that the wording “where possible” should be added between “shall not” and “be wholly” on the first line of the rule.
At the election of the committee during the AGM, no Foundation Licence holders, Intermediate Licence holders nor SWL’s were available to serve on the committee, for reasons of not wishing to serve on the Committee, or, the restriction in Rule 4f of attending more than half of all Society Meetings preventing a member being eligible.

The amended rule 4(e) would now read, “The committee upon election shall not where possible be wholly represented by members of any one class of the current licensing structure or non licensed members”.

Rule 5(a).
The words “second and fourth” be removed and replaced with the word “first”.
The present meeting nights of the second and fourth Thursdays each month have been found to clash heavily with members alternative activities, also clashing with Contests.
It was also considered that with one meeting night per month, better attendances than at present would be likely, also, provide more flexibility to invite outside speakers for the meeting programme..
The remaining Thursdays each month would be classed as “natter nights”, although other activities could be arranged if required..

The amended wording to Rule 5(a) would now read, “Ordinary meetings shall be held on the first Thursday of each month, or as notified by the Hon. Secretary in advance.
A quorum of five must be present, including the Chairman or Vice Chairman, The Hon. Secretary or Hon. Treasurer and at least two Committee Members”.
The remainder of the wording re agenda etc. shall remain as printed in the rules.

Hon. Secretary

Sun 29th March Exam success Again
5 candidates Passed their foundation exam
3 members of  Grimsby Cleethorpes Scouts

+ 2 others passed with exceedingly good marks

well done to you all

Hi All

Just a quick update on the repeaters.

As of 5PM Saturday 18th June Gb3GY was reconnected to the Echo Link network.
Also refitted GB3GG's power amplifier but it is still very poor signal strength it would seem that there is a problem with the band pass filter.
Should be able to run tests on this next weekend.

The timeout on GY has been reduced, an accurate 5 minutes is hard to set as it is done with an un-calibrated trimmer, but we are close!

The slide show on GG has been slowed down.

If you hear abuse please contact me by email at john.ferrier@ntlworld.com

I have spent a lot of time monitoring GY lately and heard no problems but also very little activity.
It would be a shame if an attempt at increasing activity with the Echolink NOV is spoilt by abuse.
